Large-Diameter PE100 22.5° Electrofusion Elbow DN180
Automatic 4.0mm Fusamatic Pin | Water PN16 / Gas 10 Bar | Sweeping Low-Angle Bends Cutting Stress & Friction in Long-Run Gas & Water Mains
What is a 22.5° Electrofusion Elbow?
A PE100 electrofusion 22.5° elbow redirects a polyethylene pipeline by just 22.5 degrees over a long, sweeping arc. This ultra-low angle distributes the direction change across a longer length of pipe wall, cutting localised bending stress and reducing flow friction — a decisive advantage for long-run mains that operate continuously.
This large-diameter version is produced for DN180mm PE pipe, using the 4.0mm Fusamatic automatic pin which reads the correct welding parameters directly from the fitting — eliminating manual programming errors and guaranteeing consistent fusion quality.
Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene, rated PN16 for water and 10 bar for gas. Operating temperature range: -10°C to +40°C.
Typical Applications
  • Long-distance gas transmission and distribution mains
  • Water supply trunk lines with gradual route adjustments
  • Wastewater pressure and gravity mains
  • Large agricultural irrigation network headers
  • Mining slurry and process water pipelines
  • Direction changes where space is tight but flow loss must stay low
Key Features & Benefits
  • Manufactured using virgin PE100 black polyethylene for long-term durability
  • Water PN16 / Gas 10 Bar rating (dependent on PE pipe welded)
  • 22.5° low angle distributes bending stress over a longer arc — less stress concentration than sharper elbows
  • Lower flow friction saves pumping energy in long-run networks
  • Large diameter DN180mm for high-flow trunk pipelines
  • 4.0mm Fusamatic automatic pin — auto-detects welding parameters, prevents operator error
  • SDR range 11-17.6, covering common PE pipe wall thicknesses
  • Rising pin fusion indicators allow easy visual monitoring of the fusion process
  • Welding parameters moulded directly into the fitting body
  • Individually numbered for precise batch tracking and quality control
  • Permanent batch number clearly marked for traceability
  • Barcode and QR code enables full traceability back to raw materials
  • Welding barcode compliant with ISO 13950; traceability barcode compliant with ISO 12176-4
  • Fully welded joint — no gaskets, no flanges, no future maintenance

Shipping & Delivery Information
We export PE electrofusion elbows worldwide. Large-diameter fittings are individually polybagged and crated to protect the fusion pins and label surfaces during sea freight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our PE100 electrofusion 22.5° elbow
What is a 22.5° electrofusion elbow used for?
A 22.5° electrofusion elbow makes a gradual, sweeping direction change in a PE pipeline with minimal bending stress and pressure drop, ideal for long-distance gas, water, wastewater and irrigation mains.
What is the available size?
This 22.5° elbow is produced as a large-diameter DN180mm fitting (ref EBKHFA180X22.5), with SDR 11-17.6, using a 4.0mm Fusamatic automatic pin.
What pressure rating does this PE100 elbow support?
This elbow is rated PN16 for water applications and 10 bar for gas applications, when welded to PE pipe of the corresponding SDR rating. Always verify the pipe SDR and local pressure regulations before installation.
Why use 22.5° instead of sharper elbows?
The low 22.5° angle distributes the direction change over a longer arc, reducing localised bending stress on the pipe wall and cutting flow friction — especially valuable in long-run mains where pumping energy and joint reliability matter.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The standard MOQ is 100 pieces, but we are flexible for trial orders. Contact us with your required quantity for a tailored quote.
