45° PE-to-Metal Pipe Adapter — Gentle Turn, Low Pressure Drop

The 45° electrofusion transition elbow with male thread is a quick and easy way to connect various types of metallic pipes to PE pipe systems. The gentler 45° angle creates a smooth directional change with lower pressure loss than a 90° elbow, while the male BSPT thread connects directly to threaded metallic fittings — a simple, effective solution for house and service connections.

The threaded insert is manufactured from brass CW617N/CW511L, available in 1" to 2" male BSPT tapered threads. It covers PE spigot sizes from DN32 to DN63 mm.

Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene with a 4 mm Fusamatic automatic pin, rated PN16 for water and 10 bar for gas. Suitable for gas, water, wastewater, irrigation and mining applications. Operating temperature range: −10°C to +40°C.

45° PE100 electrofusion transition elbow with brass male BSPT threaded insert and 4 mm automatic fusion pin
Typical Applications
  • Gas and water service lines from PE mains to metallic service pipes
  • House connections requiring a gentle directional change
  • Threaded metallic fittings and imperial connections on PE networks
  • Low-pressure-drop transitions in distribution systems
  • Wastewater, irrigation and mining metallic-to-PE pipe transitions
  • Repair and renewal of metallic service connections
Key Features & Benefits
  • 45° elbow geometry — gentler flow direction with lower pressure drop than 90°
  • Male BSPT thread (1", 1¼", 1½", 2") — connects directly to threaded metallic fittings
  • Allows transition between metric PE and threaded imperial connections
  • Brass CW617N/CW511L threaded insert — robust and corrosion-resistant
  • Quick and easy house and service connections without additional adaptor pieces
  • Fully welded PE joint — no gaskets, no mechanical clamps, no future maintenance
  • Manufactured using virgin PE100 black polyethylene for long-term durability
  • Water PN16 / Gas 10 bar rating (dependent on the PE pipe welded)
  • 4 mm Fusamatic automatic pin — auto-detects welding parameters, prevents operator error
  • Rising pin fusion indicators allow easy monitoring of the fusion process
  • Manual welding parameters moulded into the fitting body
  • Permanent batch number clearly marked for quality control
  • Barcode and QR code enable full traceability back to raw materials
  • Welding barcode compliant with ISO 13950; traceability barcode compliant with ISO 12176-4

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our 45° transition elbow with male BSPT thread.

Why choose a 45 degree transition elbow?

The 45 degree angle creates a gentler directional change than a 90 degree elbow, reducing pressure loss and turbulence in the pipeline while still providing a compact metallic-to-PE transition point.

What is a transition elbow used for?

It provides a quick, easy way to connect metallic pipes to PE pipe systems. The PE end is electrofusion welded onto the pipe while the male BSPT thread connects directly to threaded metallic fittings — a simple, effective solution for house and service connections.

Which sizes and threads are available?

Four references cover PE spigot sizes from 32 mm to 63 mm with male BSPT threads of 1 inch, 1.25 inch (1¼"), 1.5 inch (1½") and 2 inch.

Is this fitting suitable for gas service lines?

Yes. The fitting is rated water PN16 and gas 10 bar (depending on the PE pipe welded and local pipeline pressure regulations), and is suitable for gas, water, wastewater, irrigation and mining applications.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The standard MOQ is 100 pieces per size, but we are flexible for trial orders. Smaller sample quantities are available for evaluation. Contact us with your required sizes and quantity for a tailored quote.
