PN25 High Pressure PE100 Elbow

90° Spigot Elbow PE100 SDR 7.4 — Heavy-Wall Butt Fusion Fitting for High-Pressure Systems

The PE100 90° spigot elbow (SDR 7.4) is a heavy-wall moulded fitting with plain pipe-end (spigot) connections on both sides, engineered for butt fusion jointing directly to PE100 pipe of the same SDR. SDR 7.4 is the thickest standard wall class offered for PE100 fittings, giving a Water PN25 pressure rating — ideal for high-pressure water supply, mining process lines and high-rise building pipework.

Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene supplied by recognised polymer leaders such as Borealis and Ineos, our spigot elbows carry full batch traceability. The moulded construction produces a smooth bore with no seams, maximising flow and eliminating stress concentration points. Long spigot ends give the welder generous space for clamping and fusion, while factory-chamfered ends follow DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 welding procedures.

Available as a standard stock range from d25mm to d315mm, with sizes up to d500mm available on request. Each fitting is individually marked with size, SDR, standard and batch codes.

Typical Applications
  • High-pressure water supply and distribution networks (PN25)
  • Mining and process water lines requiring heavy wall sections
  • High-rise building plumbing and riser pipework
  • Irrigation booster lines and pump station headers
  • Butt fusion PE100 pipeline systems where electrofusion is not available
Key Features & Benefits
  • Heavy-wall SDR 7.4 — thickest standard PE100 fitting wall class, PN25 water rating
  • Moulded one-piece construction — smooth bore, no weld seams, lower pressure loss
  • Butt fusion jointing — strong full-strength PE-to-PE weld per DVS 2207 / ISO 21307
  • Long spigot ends — generous clamp and weld area for the fusion machine
  • Factory-chamfered ends — ready for immediate butt fusion, reduces site prep time
  • Virgin PE100 material — Borealis / Ineos polymer, full batch traceability
  • Certified standards compliance — EN 12201-3, ISO 4427-3, EN 1555-3
  • Individual barcode / batch marking for quality control
Why Choose Spigot Fittings?

Spigot (butt fusion) fittings allow high-performance pipeline systems with a more diverse range of fittings than electrofusion, especially for larger diameters and heavy-wall high-pressure classes. Butt fusion welds achieve 100% of the pipe's tensile strength, making SDR 7.4 spigot elbows the standard choice for PN25 water systems.

Dimensions — Moulded 90° Long Spigot Elbow, SDR 7.4 (PN25)
Wall class note: SDR 7.4 = outer diameter / wall thickness ratio 7.4. PE100 fittings of this class are rated Water PN25 (SDR 11 = PN16, SDR 17 = PN10, SDR 9 = PN20). Confirm matching pipe SDR before welding.

Product Standards & Certifications

All spigot fittings are manufactured from certified PE100 virgin material and tested against international piping system standards. Production is backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 29001 quality management systems.

  • EN 12201-3 — Plastics piping systems for water supply — Polyethylene (PE) — Part 3: Fittings
  • ISO 4427-3 — Plastics piping systems for water supply — Polyethylene (PE) — Part 3: Fittings
  • EN 1555-3 — Plastics piping systems for gas supply — Polyethylene (PE) — Part 3: Fittings
  • DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 — Butt fusion jointing procedures for PE pipes and fittings
  • ISO 9001 / ISO 29001 — Quality management for pipeline product manufacture

Note: SDR 7.4 class fittings are rated for Water PN25 applications. Gas rating for heavy-wall classes is available upon request per applicable national codes. Other certificates available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our PE100 spigot elbows

What is a spigot elbow?+
A spigot elbow is a 90° moulded PE fitting with plain pipe-end (spigot) connections on both sides, designed for butt fusion jointing directly to PE100 pipe of the same SDR.
What pressure is a PE100 SDR 7.4 elbow rated to?+
SDR 7.4 is the heavy-wall high-pressure class of PE100, rated Water PN25. It is suitable for high-pressure water and process systems requiring thicker wall sections.
Which sizes are available?+
The moulded 90° spigot elbow is available from d25mm to d315mm in our standard range, with sizes up to d500mm available on request.
How is the spigot elbow joined to the pipe?+
Spigot ends are butt-fusion welded to PE pipe using a butt fusion machine following DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 procedures. The ends are chamfered to the correct angle for a clean weld.
What standards do the fittings meet?+
Fittings are manufactured and tested to EN 12201-3 / ISO 4427-3 for water supply and EN 1555-3 for gas, with PE100 virgin material supplied by Borealis or Ineos.
