90° Spigot Elbow PE100 SDR 9 — ISO 4427 Moulded Butt Fusion Fitting, PN20

The PE100 90° spigot elbow (SDR 9) is a high-pressure moulded fitting with plain pipe-end (spigot) connections on both sides, engineered for butt fusion jointing directly to PE100 pipe of the same SDR. Rated Water PN20 (2.0 MPa at 20°C), SDR 9 occupies the mid-high pressure band of the PE100 programme — between the PN25 heavy-wall class (SDR 7.4) and the PN16 standard class (SDR 11) — making it a versatile choice for demanding water networks.

Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene supplied by recognised polymer leaders such as Borealis and Ineos, our spigot elbows carry full batch traceability. The one-piece moulded construction produces a smooth bore with no seams, maximising flow and eliminating stress concentration points. Long spigot ends give the welder generous clamping and fusion space, while factory-chamfered ends follow DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 welding procedures.

The range covers d20mm to d500mm, with d20-315mm held as standard stock and larger sizes produced on request. Each fitting is individually marked with size, SDR, standard and batch codes.

Typical Applications

  • High-pressure water supply and distribution networks (PN20)
  • Irrigation mainlines and booster stations
  • Industrial process water and cooling water lines
  • Municipal water works and pump station headers
  • Butt fusion PE100 systems where electrofusion is not available

SDR 9 PN20 90° Spigot Elbow PE100 Butt Fusion Elbow for Water Supply ISO 4427

Key Features & Benefits

  • SDR 9 / PN20 rating — 2.0 MPa high-pressure class, ideal for demanding networks
  • ISO 4427-3 certified — full compliance with international water piping standards
  • Moulded one-piece construction — smooth bore, no seams, lower pressure loss
  • Butt fusion jointing — full-strength PE-to-PE weld per DVS 2207 / ISO 21307
  • Long spigot ends — generous clamp and weld area for the fusion machine
  • Factory-chamfered ends — ready for immediate butt fusion on site
  • Virgin PE100 material — Borealis / Ineos polymer, full batch traceability
  • Wide range d20-500mm — one source for the full network programme

Why Choose SDR 9 for Your Network?

SDR 9 gives you high-pressure capability with a lighter wall than SDR 7.4, balancing strength and material economy. It pairs with SDR 9 PE100 pipe for full-strength butt fusion joints, and is the standard choice for PN20 water supply schemes across municipal, agricultural and industrial projects.

Dimensions — Moulded 90° Long Spigot Elbow, SDR 9 (PN20)

Wall class note: SDR = outer diameter / wall thickness ratio. PE100 fitting pressure programme: SDR 7.4 = PN25, SDR 9 = PN20, SDR 11 = PN16, SDR 17 = PN10. Always weld to PE pipe of the matching SDR.

Product Standards & Certifications

All spigot fittings are manufactured from certified PE100 virgin material and tested against international piping system standards. Production is backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 29001 quality management systems.

  • ISO 4427-3 — Plastics piping systems for water supply — Polyethylene (PE) — Part 3: Fittings
  • EN 12201-3 — Plastics piping systems for water supply — Polyethylene (PE) — Part 3: Fittings
  • DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 — Butt fusion jointing procedures for PE pipes and fittings
  • ISO 9001 / ISO 29001 — Quality management for pipeline product manufacture

Note: SDR 9 class fittings are rated for Water PN20 applications. Other wall classes (SDR 7.4 / 11 / 17) available in the same 90° spigot elbow range. Other certificates available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our PE100 spigot elbows

What is a spigot elbow?+
A spigot elbow is a 90° moulded PE fitting with plain pipe-end (spigot) connections on both sides, designed for butt fusion jointing directly to PE100 pipe of the same SDR.
What pressure is a PE100 SDR 9 elbow rated to?+
SDR 9 is a high-pressure wall class of PE100, rated Water PN20 (2.0 MPa at 20°C). It sits between SDR 7.4 (PN25) and SDR 11 (PN16) in the PE100 pressure programme.
Which sizes are available?+
The moulded 90° spigot elbow is available from d20mm to d500mm, with d20-315mm in our standard stock range and larger sizes available on request.
How is the spigot elbow joined to the pipe?+
Spigot ends are butt-fusion welded to PE pipe using a butt fusion machine following DVS 2207 / ISO 21307 procedures. The ends are chamfered to the correct angle for a clean weld.
What standards do the fittings meet?+
Fittings are manufactured and tested to ISO 4427-3 / EN 12201-3 for water supply, with PE100 virgin material supplied by Borealis or Ineos.
