SDR 11 Spigot Multi Bend PN16 Water 10 Bar Gas Long Radius Sweep Bend d20-500mm Pre-Fabricated HDPE Bend

The PE100 90° spigot multi bend (SDR 11) is a pre-fabricated, long-radius sweep bend — certified for Water PN16 and Gas 10 Bar. Unlike a sharp moulded elbow, the multi bend follows a smooth long-radius curvature, inducing minimal stress on the pipe wall and the butt fusion welds at each end.

Each multi bend is pre-formed from certified virgin PE100 pipe (Borealis/Ineos grade) and fitted with spigot ends sized for butt fusion to matching PE100 pipe. The smooth internal bore maximises flow and minimises turbulence, which is why gas transmission engineers specify long-radius bends on high-velocity and large-diameter pipelines.

Commonly used for HDD river crossings, road and rail crossings, deep-burial sections, gas transmission mains, and directional transition zones, the multi bend eliminates field bending errors and reduces on-site welding. Sizes cover d20mm to d500mm, with standard long-radius sweeps (3D–10D) and custom radii produced to project drawings.

Moulded 90° elbows are convenient for tight spaces, but they concentrate stress at the corner. A long-radius multi bend distributes the bend over a long arc, which matters on buried lines subject to soil movement, frost heave, traffic loading and HDD pull-back forces — exactly the conditions where leaks and failures are most costly.

Note: Multi bends are pre-fabricated from certified PE100 pipe and subject to the same wall and pressure ratings as the parent pipe. Other wall classes (SDR 7.4 / 9 / 17) available on request. Certificates on request.

Long-radius bends are bulkier than moulded elbows and are shipped on wooden pallets or in crates to protect the sweep. Each piece is individually bagged and labelled with size, SDR, radius and batch number.
