90° Short Spigot Bend PE100 SDR 11 — Compact Butt Fusion Fitting for Tight Spaces

The PE100 90° short spigot bend (SDR 11) is the compact, space-saving 90° turn — rated Water PN16 and Gas 10 Bar. Its shortened spigot ends are the key difference: where a standard long-spigot elbow would collide with chamber walls, floors or neighbouring pipework, this short-end bend fits.

Manufactured from virgin PE100 black polyethylene supplied by recognised polymer leaders such as Borealis and Ineos, the one-piece moulded construction produces a smooth bore with no seams. The short spigot ends still leave enough clamping length for a full-strength butt fusion weld per DVS 2207 / ISO 21307.

This is the fitting engineers reach for when the design calls for a 90° turn inside a confined space — valve chambers, meter boxes, hydrant pits, meter pits, equipment skids and indoor plant rooms. Sizes cover d20mm to d500mm, with d25-315mm held as standard stock and larger sizes produced on request.

Short End vs. Long Spigot

Standard long-spigot elbows give the welder generous clamping space but extend the overall length. In valve chambers, meter pits and hydrant bases, that extra length is exactly what hits the wall. The short spigot bend keeps the weld integrity while trimming the overall envelope to fit the precast concrete chamber.
