In the field of petroleum and chemical engineering construction, welding technology not only bears the critical responsibility of equipment connection but also serves as a pivotal force driving the leap in engineering efficiency and quality. From the colossal structures of oil and gas storage and transportation—such as storage tanks and pipelines—to the intricate vessels, towers, heaters, and complex process pipelines in refined processes, welding is ubiquitous, and its importance is self-evident. 
 Currently, with capacity building and structural optimization adjustments, China's refining and chemical industry is undergoing a profound transformation. The pace of infrastructure development in the sector is accelerating, exhibiting a trend toward large-scale and mega-scale projects. Traditional manual welding methods can no longer meet the high standards for efficiency, quality, and cost control demanded by modern petroleum and chemical engineering. 

 Looking ahead, as the petroleum and chemical industry continues to develop and technology innovates, welding will play an even more crucial role in engineering construction. To address these challenges, the following measures are essential: First, enhance the integration of welding technology with intelligent technologies to achieve automatic identification of welds and molten pools, real-time adjustment of welding torch posture and trajectory, and intelligent optimization of welding parameters. Second, increase investment in automated processing equipment to improve assembly quality. Third, deepen the application of intelligent welding data management software to strengthen welding process control. Fourth, fully leverage IoT technology to enable remote monitoring of welding equipment and intelligent management of data.
